Quick Chicken a la King
Quick Chicken a la King is a home-cooked version of a vintage restaurant favorite, made easy because you don't have to make a cream sauce from scratch! This creamy, decadent chicken and vegetable mixture is made with condensed cream of mushroom soup instead, which gives it a velvety texture that is absolutely comfort food. What makes it really perfect is that it uses pantry staple ingredients and it's ready in 20 minutes! You can serve it over lots of different things, like rice or noodles or even over biscuits or toast! Whatever you serve it with, Quick Chicken a la King will taste great!
Ingredient
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 medium red bell pepper, chopped (about 1 cup)
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup or 98% Fat Free Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups cubed cooked chicken
- 1/2 cup frozen peas (about 4 1/2 ounces)
Direction
- Heat the butter in a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat. Add the pepper and cook until tender.
- Stir in the soup, milk, chicken and peas and cook until the mixture is hot. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve the chicken mixture over hot cooked rice, if desired.
