Deluxe Au Gratin Potato Wedges
What do you pair with something so delicious? Serve this cheesy goodness with your best glazed ham recipe or roasted turkey breast or go casual and spoon it up next to your favorite meatloaf, pork chops or your favorite shredded beef sandwiches. Ingredient
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4 teaspoons All Purpose Flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 to 3 medium red potatoes, each cut lengthwise into 8 wedges (8 oz)
- 1/3 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
Direction
- Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 3-cup shallow casserole with cooking spray. In 1-quart saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in flour, salt, mustard and pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly; remove from heat. Gradually stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly; boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in cheese until melted.
- Pour half the sauce into bottom of casserole. Arrange potato wedges over sauce in casserole. Pour remaining sauce over potatoes. Cover casserole with foil.
- Bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 18 to 22 minutes longer or until top is light golden brown and potatoes are tender. Sprinkles with chives before serving.
